Time lapse video of the Northern Lights

After much searching I finally found one of the most stunning time lapse video of the Northern Lights I have seen.

It was created by Ole C. Salomonsen, a landscape photographer born and raised in Tromsø in Northern Norway who spent more than 6 months collecting footage and approx 50,000 still images to make this video.

I was prompted to look for a time lapse video after the recent solar flare had promised spectacular displays of the Aurora Borealis across Scotland. However, we were disappointed on the Isle of Mull owing to heavy cloud and rain, though there were good displays of the Northern Lights seen in some parts of Scotland and much of Northern England.
