Long exposure seascape – Firth of Lorne

This wide angle seascape image shows plenty of foreground detail that nicely contrasts with the rather softer background created by the use of a slow shutter speed of 100 seconds. A good sturdy tripod is essential for this kind of photography work to ensure the camera remains absolutely still.

I also like the contrast of this seascape that is evident in colour of the warmer reds and oranges of the foreground rocks and pebbles with the muted, cooler blues of the sea and sky.
