Stop the Serengeti Highway !
“The government of Tanzania is planning to build a major commercial highway across the Serengeti National Park, linking the Lake area Victoria with eastern Tanzania.”
Scientists around the world agree – this ill-conceived project would destroy a priceless world heritage that has been protected by the people of Tanzania since the birth of their country. It would also cause grave danger to their entire tourist industry so it is considered important to stop the Serengeti Highway.
Whilst I have never visited Tanzania or the Serengeti I still feel strongly about this and believe it will be a grave error if the construction of the highway goes ahead. It will result in massive habitat loss and place an increasing burden on the wildlife within this sensitive environment.
