Sky Photography – Cloud appreciation

This is the second part of our sky photography collection and follows yesterdays post Reach for the sky Part One.

I have always had an interest in the sky and clouds, in fact I have recently become a member of The Cloud Appreciation Society. Their website is a valuable resource providing plenty of really useful sky photography and cloud related information. It is well worth a visit, you can also follow them on Twitter at @CloudAppSoc.

I hope you enjoy this collection of ‘sky photography‘ images and I look forward to your comments.

Sky Photographs – Cloud appreciation

Sky photographs can make interesting visual displays. There are times when the sky becomes the most important element within landscape photography, a skyscape perhaps.

On these occasions it is hard to resist using the sky as the larger part of the landscape composition. Just a strip of land to provide location and scale, the rest of the image is given over to the sky as in these sky photographs. Obviously weather patterns greatly influence the appearance of the sky, whether it be a stunning sunset, an unusual cloud formation or a heavy threatening approaching storm they all make for interesting sky photographs.

I have included below a set of sky photographs to illustrate the variety of images and a further selection, Part Two, will follow tomorrow – I hope you enjoy them.
